TLR’s recent work to preserve the Idarado Houses drew the attention of our local newspaper during last week’s Board of County Commissioners meeting. The Ouray Plaindealer article by Carolina Brown gives a brief history of the houses and the effort in place to preserve these historical structures south of Ouray. Trust for Land Restoration is working with Newmont Mining Corp., Ouray County Historical Society, Ouray County and the US Forest service to restore and protect three of the four houses.
