TLR Appeal – Seeks Funding for the Idarado Houses Project
TLR has begun its Sustaining Membership Drive. Donations will go toward stabilization and preservation of the Idarado Houses. Donations may be made either to TLR or to the Ouray County Historical Society (OCHS). Donations of $250 made to OCHS’ Idarado Houses Fund will earn back a 25% Colorado Enterprise Zone Tax Credit. TLR’s Program Assistant Lisa Hickman has recently produced a promotional video that chronicles the Idarado Houses project and the people who once lived there. This 17 minutes video combines history with present day efforts to stabilize and preserve the Idarado Houses near the top of Red Mountain Pass.
Montrose Daily Press – TLR and Donation of Idarado Houses to Ouray County
The Montrose Daily Press recently published a TLR press release related to the Idarado Houses project and the completion of donation of the Houses to Ouray County by Idarado-Newmont Mining. The donation of the Houses and property marks the beginning of the stabilization phase.
